Another great fundraiser for the campaign to save Beeston's Ploughshare pub. A film show in Beeston village hall on Saturday night raised £500. In the aptly-chosen film, 'Chicklit', filmed mainly in Norfolk, a group of pub loyalists secretly write a "mummy porn" best seller to save their beloved local. Fundraising and a share offer have now taken the Ploughshare total to beyond £80 000, with several major grants and loans in the pipeline. "Gaining traction," says campaign chairman Henry Dennett.
