We're fortunate enough to have an experienced and capable management committee to guide the running of Beeston Community Enterprises.
If you'd like to get involved, any member can volunteer for election at the annual general meeting. In the meantime, you can get in touch to offer your assistance... we'd be glad to have you on board!
Beeston Community Enterprises Ltd. was formed with a single purpose - to purchase the Ploughshare and run it for the benefit of the village.
The campaign began in earnest in March 2016, shortly after the Ploughshare had closed. A village meeting was called and there was unanimous agreement that every effort should be made to save the pub.
By December 2017, we had raised over £150,000 via a successful share offer, fundraising events and grants. A further share option was launched in April 2018, where we aimed to raise the additional funds required to purchase the pub.
By January 2019 the opportunity finally presented itself to purchase the pub and with just enough funds to do so, we brought back the pub from the brink of redevelopment.
